I recently went to Ashley furniture for a second time. First time was an ok experience I bought a leather sofa and its lasted about 6 years its time for a new one though this ones leather is starting to peel and the springs that were supposed to last a lifetime didn't. However this time I felt as though they were trying to scam me the whole time of purchase by not informing me of certain things like their lifetime guarantee on furniture no longer applies instead they run back and forth to manager trying to talk you into some kind of insurance policy. But the one that got me most was at time of payment they requested my card and showed big pictures on their little booth computers. When I told them I was paying in cash it was like they were a little shocked people still pay that way and told me I had to follow them to the main desk. so I did and we went through the process of looking at the slideshow of the purchase again even though I looked at it up and down on the showroom floor that's when I looked at the final price and it hit me. they prefer you to pay with a card because they didn't want you to see that they were charging you 140 dollars for a delivery and setup fee. I was like that's ok ill pick it up like I did last time. they said I cant do that I had to let them deliver and invade my home to purchase their products. So I made a little seen as I do and the managers start giving me dirty looks from their desks. So I let them know I wasn't going to let the 80 year old man lose his commission because he apologized and told me quietly that's the way they make them sell their products by not telling you their extra costs but having you look at the slide show of your purchase as a distraction. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS STORE AGAIN AND I AM IN NEED OF A BEDROOM SET AND LIVING ROOM SET. THIER LOSS.
